Doug Ledbetter
Doug Ledbetter grew up in Paris, Texas and graduated from Paris High School in 2002. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps during his senior year and left for boot camp after graduation. Doug served four years of active duty as a machine gunner in 2nd Battalion 7th Marines based out of 29 Palms, California. He was deployed to Okinawa, Japan and the Philippine Islands as well as two tours to Iraq.
After being honorably discharged in 2006, Doug moved back to Dallas, Texas and began working corporate security for clients such as Experian and the Army and Air Force Exchange Services Headquarters. He also became a Texas State certified Personal Protection Officer in 2009.
Doug is board certified through the state of Colorado and Executive Security International (ESI) as a Certified Protection Specialist (CPS), a Certified Security Specialist (CSS), and a Certified Special Operations Security Specialist (CSOSS). He was an affiliate instructor for ESI and taught defensive firearms tactics as well as Executive Protection skills and Protective Security Detail (PSD) operations.
He is a member of the United States Martial Arts Association and Krav Maga Association. Doug is a Krav Maga instructor, NRA firearms instructor, certified Glock Armorer, and a Defensive Tactics instructor for law enforcement. His focus now, is helping people through the process of not becoming a victim.
The Japanese virtue of nintai was articulated to Doug by his mentors and martial art masters in 2011, but the core meaning has been incorporated throughout his life. The concept of nintai is to persevere no matter what obstacle presents itself, to never quit, and to have patience while doing so.
Doug has had to overcome everything from poor choices, to life and death situations. While learning not to give up in the face of adversity, Doug realized that he still had strengths keeping him in the fight, so to speak. However, in order to improve his life, he understood that combining his strengths with those of others around him, created something virtually unbreakable. Alone, Nin means endurance and Tai means to withstand, resist and hold. Both characters have great qualities while standing alone. When merged together, they form the extreme perseverance under the harshest of conditions. Every person in this world has something great to offer but when they merge with another they become much larger than themselves.
Strong Alone. Stronger Together.
Never Give Up.
